Library

The Singareni Collieries polytechnic Institute’s library is an invaluable learning resource center for the students and the faculty. It has 6380 books with over 1866 titles. The institute’s library is a regular subscriber to print journals, e-journals. SCP library has DVD/VCDs on various subjects of engineering and management. The library is housed in a 150sq ft area . Apart from this all the departments have their book banks for students. The college is a member of  e-journals and DELNET ( Developing Library Network ). Library provides book bank and reprography facility to its Members. The Library is open after college timings also follows an ‘open access system’ so that the students can read books at leisure.

  • In UGC- INFLIBNET program. Under this program access to more than 2000 journals are provided.

  • Implementation of RFID technology in the library along with smart cards to faculty and students.

  • Establishment of Internet Center for students of the College.

  • Inter Library Loan System extended to affiliates colleges and Recognized institutions.

  • Orientation Course in Library use for new students enrolled in various Departments of the College.

  • Guidance in respect of technical and organizational matters relating to libraries is extended, when asked for.

  • Special reading facilities (cubical) for Faculty.Lists of prominent books added to the library are circulated to concerned Departments of the College.

  • Union Catalogue of back volumes of periodicals available in the libraries of constituent colleges and recognized institutions

  • Library Management System is a workflow application which aims at automating various library functions encompassing Member Registration, Requisitions for New Items & their Approval, Accession & Cataloging of library items, Reservation/ Issue / Return of library items, Order Generation and maintenance of details pertaining to Inter-Library Loans, Bills, Orders and Vendors .

  • Our Library is a user-driven, customizable interface to collections of Internet resources-a portal. Primarily designed for libraries, the system's purpose is to reduce information overload by allowing patrons to select as little or as much information as desired for their personal pages.
